Comics I Recommend:

Notes for the day:
...and where did he get the ice?

Tuesday, July 24, 2007

I'm really not sure where this one came from. It may have been sparked by talk of floatation devices during my recent trip to the lake, but I can't be certain.

I've always been confused by the idea of sending your elderly down the river on a block of ice. The truth is that the practice was very rare and is no longer done. But it makes a good joke.

To set the decrepit adrift.
Where would one get a block of ice large enough to float on in the tropics? The local Surf Shop maybe. AS for floating your elderly off on a block of ice... might as well put them in a river that leads to a waterfall.

Elderly Eskimos wouldn't last long at all in warmer climates.
